Glycol Ethers

Low-odor and low-metallic glycol ether using proprietary purification technologies.

Glycol ethers are mainly used as solvents in paint, ink, detergent and electronic material.

Poly(tetramethylene ether)glycol

PTMG is a linear polyether glycol with hydroxyl groups on both ends. As a polyol, it reacts readily with isocyanates (i.e., MDI, TDI, etc.) to produce resins with excellent properties such as impact resistance, hydrolysis resistance, wear resistance, tear resistance, fungus resistance and low temperature flexibility. The Polyurethane applications are Polyurethane Elastomers, Thermoset Elastomers (TSU), Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPU), Paints and Coatings, Adhesives and Sealants, and Artificial Suede and Synthetic Leather. The Polyester Applications are Polyester Elastomers (TPEE), Polyamide Applications and Polyether Amide Elastomers.

2-Propenoic acid, 2-methyl-, 2-[3-(2H-benzotriazol-2-yl)-4-hydroxyphenyl]ethyl ester

RUVA-93 copolymerizes efficiently with a variety of monomers, such as methacrylic, styrenic, and acrylonitrile monomers, thus providing permanent placement of the benzotrizole in the polymer. The advantages associated with a UV stabilizer bonded to a polymer backbone over the typical “additive” stabilizers include the permanence of the stabilizer in the resin, improved compatibility even in the very high loadings, excellent environmental acceptability, expanded technology options and ability to design new UV polymer screens with unique properties.

Fast Dry Polyisocyanate

Fast drying polyisocyanate is based on the widely used aliphatic hexamethylene-1,6-diisocyanate (HDI) – enhanced to dry polyurethane faster. These are primarily used for high performance, fast drying polyurethane applications to improve weatherability and UV/chemical resistance.

Low Viscosity HDI-polyisocyanates

Polyisocyanate based on the widely used aliphatic hexamethylene-1,6-diisocyanate (HDI). These are primarily used for high performance coatings applications to improve weatherability and UV/chemical resistance.

These low and ultra low viscosity grades have 100% symmetrical chemical structure enabling better performance compared to competitors which have slight biuret contamination. The higher quality is great for non-solvent formulations and enables better surface smoothness and gloss retention.

High Flexure Polyisocyanate


High flexibility polyisocyanate for use in elastic polyurethane coating formulations. Eliminates the need for plasticizer on flexible substrates: leather, rubber, plastics, etc.

These are primarily used for high performance coatings to improve weatherability, UV- and chemical-resistance in automotive, architectural, industrial and other applications.

Acrylic Microspheres

This product series of fine PMMA spherical particles are developed using exclusive polymerization techniques to create world-class acrylic microspheres controlled for particle-size ranges and distributions, and degrees of cross-linkage.

[3-(Methacryloylamino)propyl]trimethylammonium chloride solution 50 wt. % in H2O

Methacryloyl aminopropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride (MAPTAC) is a cationic monomer used in paints and coatings. It can also be used in water treatment polymer flocculants.

1,2-Butanediol

1,2-Butanediol is a colorless liquid that is 100% soluble in water. This substance as an ink solvent and also to produce polyester resins and plasticizers. It’s also possible to react 1,2-butanediol with an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid for use as an unsaturated polyester resin raw material.

1,2-Hexanediol

KMO-6 is a high purity 1,2-Hexanediol that can be used in personal care formulations not only as a humectant, but also as a safe substitute of traditional preservatives. It has a broad anti-microbial ability with limited endocrine disrupting effect. Manufacturing of KMO-6 involves processes of reducing the undesirable odor of 1,2-Hexanediol and bringing the purity up to min 99.5%. Made in Japan.

1,6-hexanediol dimethacrylate

NK Ester HD-N is a difunctional acrylic monomer which can be polymerized by free radicals. In particular, this product is designed for use in UV and Electron Beam curing applications mainly as a crosslinker. It can also be used in anaerobic adhesive applicaitons.

2-hydroxyethyl acrylate

HEA is a hydroxy functional acrylic monomer which can be used in a variety of ways to produce resins that are useful in high performance coating applications.   Using typical methods for the polymerization of ethylenically unsaturated monomers, HEA can be used to attach hydroxy groups to an acrylic polymer backbone.  The pendant hydroxyl groups can then act as sites for reaction with a variety of cross-linking agents.  HEA allows faster curing cycles and/or reduced baking temperatures, compared with hydroxyalkyl methacrylates.  Additionally, HEA can be formulated at higher solids in coating applications. It is also a key raw material for acrylic polyols.

2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate

HEMA is an ester of methacrylic acid, soluble in water and has relatively low volatility. It copolymerizes easily with a variety of monomers, incorporates cross-link sites, imparts corrosion, fogging and abrasion resistance, and the hydroxyl group improves adhesion. It is also a key raw material for acrylic polyols.

2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate phosphate


Kowa’s line of specialty monomers is available to add a functional phosphate group to the acrylic backbone found in many emulsion polymer systems. Such functionality can impart adhesion promotion to various substrates, corrosion resistance, and improved film strength. Besides polymers systems, 2-HEMA-Phosphate can be used in pigment systems to promote adhesion. Also, commonly known as ethylene glycol methacrylate phosphate.

Advantages include better adhesion to metal substrates and other difficult substrates, improved corrosion resistance, and less surface preparation.

2,4,6-Tribromophenol

2,4,6-Tribromophenol (TBP-A) is a brominated derivative of phenol. It is used as a fungicide, as a wood preservative, and an intermediate in the preparation of flame retardants.

2,4,6-Tribromophenyl acrylate

2,4,6-Tribromophenyl acrylate is a novel response fire retardant which can be used in plastics, adhesives, coatings, fiber plasticizers and so on.

2-hydroxypropyl acrylate

HPA is a hydroxyl functional acrylic monomer used in high performance coating applications. HPA can be used to attach hydroxyl groups to an acrylic polymer backbone to create sites for reaction with a variety of cross-linking agents. Compared with hydroxyalkyl methacrylates, HPA allows faster curing cycles and reduced baking temperatures. It can also be formulated at higher solids in coating applications.

3,4-Dichlorobenzotrifluoride

3, 4-Dichlorobenzotrifluoride is a colorless, transparent-liquid that has a minimum purity of 98%. This substance can be used as a solvent and for making other chemicals and dyes. It can also be used in chemical generation, organic synthesis and medicine.

3-mercaptopropionic acid

3-MPA is widely used in food and beverage industries as a flavoring agent. It is used in the production of PVC stabilizers, which are used as chain transfer agents in polymerizations. It can be used as primary or secondary, color stabilizer in combination with phenolic antioxidant for polymers and can also be used as a chain transfer agent.

4-chlorobenzotrifluoride

PCBTF is a colorless, VOC-exempt solvent widely used in coatings and inks, dissolving most inks faster than toluene.

4-hydroxybenzaldehyde

4-hydroxybenzaldehyde is present at high purity and widely used as the starting material for specialty chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

4-hydroxybutyl acrylate

4HBA has a primary hydroxyl group at the end of a longer alkyl chain which allows it to be used in UV curable formulations and improves flexibility. This can also be used to make specialty acrylic polyols.

Compared with HEA, we recommend this as an alternative in UV coatings because of the lower toxicity, corrosiveness, and volatility of 4HBA.

Acrylamide

Solid Acrylamide is intended to be used as raw material in the manufacture of paper strength enhancing agents, synthetic resins, synthetic fiber, waste water coagulant, soil improving agent, adhesives and paints.

Alkox® (PEO) for Personal Care

Polyethylene Oxide (PEO) resins offer substantial improvements in lubricity, silkiness, foaming ability (fine dense foams), wet combing ease and skin feel in personal care products even at concentrations less than 1%.

ALKOX® Resins are supplied as non-dusting white, granular powders with the melting point of 65 – 67°C and are available in high MWs from 100,000 to 8 million (INCI PEG-2M to PEG-160M) with a neutral pH, low odor (no amine smell), and fumed silica free (a skin irritant). Due to the unique nature of their aqueous solutions, ALKOX is soluble in water in all proportions and are used in a wide variety of Personal Care applications.

Can be used as foam emollient and drag reducer in shampoos and conditioners, emollient and skin conditioning agent in lotions and creams, as lubricant in shaving gels or razor stripes.

Allyl glycidyl ether

NEOALLYL® G is produced from allyl alcohol and epichlorohydrin.  It contains two reactive groups, namely epoxy and allyl groups.   NEOALLYL® G reacting with various chemical compounds, finds a wide variety of applications in the industrial fields including such applications as crosslinking agents, components of elastomers, fiber treatment agents, paints, adhesives, surface treatment agents, reactive intermediate and monomer.

AMA is a low viscosity liquid monomer with dual allylic and methacrylic functionalities, offering chemical and heat resistance, adhesion, hardness, excellent second stage cross-linking and low shrinkage.

Anti-Microbial Agent

ZEOMIC is the world’s first silver-based inorganic agent developed in 1983. The toxicity to human cells is considerably lower than to bacteria allowing ZEOMIC to inhibit bacterial growth in a variety of applications like inks, paints & coatings, adhesives & sealants, and many more applications while boasting excellent safety, life of efficacy, and high heat resistance.

Silver has a long history of use and been well-known since ancient times as an antimicrobial material. It has considerably more antimicrobial activity in the ion state but this state is rather unstable. To maintain stability, ZEOMIC combines the safety of silver ions with an inorganic carrier, zeolite (ingredient for detergent, adsorbent, medicine for cattle, etc).

Aronvis®

Aronvis® series sodium polyacrylate is used as thickener for milky liquids, creams and lotions. Combination of various polyacrylic acids with crosslinked agents produces hydrous gel products for facial mask sheets.

Thoroughly neutralized SX, MX grade and partially neutralized AHX, AH-105X as well as AH-106X grades are super-high polymeric electrolytes.

Excellent thickening even with small quantity of Aronvis®.

Art Resin Bi-functional Urethane Acrylate

Art Resin KY-103 is a non-yellowing bifunctional urethane acrylate which is cured by UV. EB or conventionally.  Films formulated with KY-103 have excellent flexibility.  KY-103 has use in various applications but particularly for gel nail coatings requiring flexibility.

Art Resin Urethane Acrylate

Art Resin KY-101 is a non-yellowing urethane acrylate cured by UV, EB or conventionally.  It has use in particular in gel nails requiring flexibility.

Asahi Kasei Aluminium Paste

Asahi Kasei Aluminium Paste is used as a pigment for paint, printing ink, resin mixing. It is a silver paster with a petroleum odor. Reacts with water, acid, alkali, oxidizing agents, metal oxide and halogen compounds to form hydrogen gas. Reaction is accelerated by heat.

 

Barifine® BF-1L, BF-1, BF-20 & BF-40

Barifine® BF-1L, BF-1, BF-10, BF-20 and BF-40 are highly transparent, chemically inert, ultrafine barium sulfates that are manufactured by Sakai Chemical in Japan. These products provide haze-free gloss and highly smooth film by their hyper filling effect for solvent-born paint. Barifine® encapsulated pigment particles maximize their original brightness and control of aluminum pigment orientation in metallic basecaot. Some recommended uses of this product are automotive topcoat, automotive surfacer, appliance coatings, inks, and plastics.

Barifine® BF-21, BF-25 & BF-26

Barifine® BF-21, BF-25 and BF-26 are excellent dispersions with superior transparency in water-born coatings due to surface treatment. These products show improvement in the haze-free gloss and jetness of black paints; as well as in the haze-free gloss and saturation of organic color pigments. Some recommended uses for these products include automotive topcoat and automotive surfacer by water-born coatings. They are also used in water-born coatings and water-born inks. are highly transparent, chemically inert, ultrafine barium sulfates that are manufactured by Sakai Chemical in Japan.

Benzoguanamine-CH

Benzoguanamine is used for synthesis of resin, plastic, medicine, pesticide, dyes, etc. This high purity substance has a high melting point and decomposition temperature.

 

Benzotrifluoride

BTF is used as a specialty solvent in organic synthesis and an intermediate in the production of pesticides and pharmaceuticals. BTF is an alternative solvent to dichloromethane.

Cyclohexyl methacrylate

CHMA forms homopolymers and copolymers.  Copolymers of DHMA can be prepared with acrylic acid and its salts, amides and esters, and with methacrylates, acrylonitrile, styrene, butadiene, unsaturated polyesters and drying oils, etc.  CHMA is also a very useful feedstock for chemical syntheses, because it readily undergoes addition with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds.

The FD, GX, and BS Series represent the ultimate in distinctive, finely controlled brightness, whiteness, flip-flop, fineness, and other optical effects and designs that are particularly desirable in automotive, consumer electronics and IT, and other key fields.

Diacetone Acrylamide

DAAM is used in the manufacturing of coatings, laminates sealers, adhesives, lubricating oils, curing agent for epoxy resins, hydroscpicity and vapor permeability to copolymer films, softy contact lenses, in air sprays and photosensitized resins.

Dicyanimide

Dicyanimide is used in the production of laboratory chemicals and manufacture of other substances. This high purity product has a high melting point. It is used extensively as a counterion of organic and inorganic salts, and also as a reactant for the synthesis of various covalent organic structures.

Difunctional Hydroxy- Terminal 1,2 Diol

ACTFLOW is a non-solvent functional and reactive acrylic polymer of low-molecular weight that has come out of molecular weight control technology. Due to environmentally sound characteristics as a non-solvent liquid polymer and excellent normal-temperature fluidity, ACTFLOW is recommended as a plasticizer replacement, modifying agent and additive agent.

Dimethyl acrylamide

N,N-Dimethylacrylamide (DMAA) is a low viscosity, UV diluent monomer with high reactivity. It can also be used in the manufacture of water-soluble and other specialty polymers. It offers glass and polycarbonate adhesion, increased hydrolytic stability, excellent optical properties, improved hydrolytic resistance in water soluble polymers and is a good viscosity modifier for hydrophilic formulations. DMAA in oligomers improves adhesion, UV- and impact- resistance. Applications are adhesives, UV coatings, inks, optical products and similar applications.

Dimethyl carbonate

Dimethyl carbonate (DMC) is used as a VOC-exempt solvent in many paints and coatings. It is a fast evaporating polar solvent and can replace esters, glycol ethers and ketones in formulations. DMC can be used as a methylating and carbonylating reagent in organic synthesis.

N,N-Dimethylaminoethyl Methacrylate is a water-soluble, monofunctional acrylate monomer with a polar tertiary amine group that offers water solubility and excellent adhesion properties.

EO-Modified Tribromophenyl Acrylate

New Frontier BR-31 (EO-Modified Tribromophenyl Acrylate) is a novel response fire retardant which can be used in plastics, adhesives, coatings, fiber plasticizers and so on.

EO/PO Blocked Copolymer

ALKOX® BL1-4010 is an EO/PO Blocked Copolymer. It functions as a viscosity enhancer, thixotropic modifier, dispersing agent and a surface tension reducer for paints & coatings, adhesives & sealants and other similar applications requiring rheology modifiers.

EO/PO Copolymer AE-2

2,2-Bis[4-(2-hydroxyethoxy) phenyl]propane is an aromatic diol structurally related to bisphenol A and useful for incorporation into polymer chains resulting in a buildup of the molecular weight in high molecular weight copolymers.

EO/PO Copolymer AP-2

2,2-Bis[4-(2-hydroxypropoxy)phenyl]propane is an aromatic diol structurally related to bisphenol A and useful for incorporation into polymer chains resulting in a buildup of the molecular weight in high molecular weight copolymers.

EO/PO Copolymer HQ-2

1,4-Bis(2-hydroxyethoxy)benzene is a symmetrical aromatic diol chain extender. It can improve tensile, hardness, resilience properties to MDI-polyurethane elastomers.

EO/PO Copolymer RE-2

1,3-Bis(2-hydroxyethoxy)benzene is a symmetrical aromatic diol chain extender. It can improve tensile, hardness, resilience properties to MDI-polyurethane elastomers.

Ethoxylated glycerin

Ethoxylated Glycerin, with a primary hydroxyl group at the end of a longer alkyl chain, gives excellent scratch resistance due to its high crosslinking ratio and unique flexibility.

Ethoxylated o-phenylphenol acrylate

NK Ester A-LEN-10 is a monofunctional acrylic monomer which can be polymerized by free radicals, in particular, NK Ester A-LEN-10 is designed for use in UV and Electron Beam curing applications.

Ferulic Acid

Ferulic acid is a rice origin ingredient that can be used in skin care formulations as antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and skin brightening agent. It shows higher tyrosinase inhibition than kojic acid and can be used in skin brightening applications.

Glycidyl Ether, EO, PO Copolymer

ALKOX® CP-B series is a random copolyner of phenyl glycidyl ether, ethylene oxide, and propylene oxide.  CP-B series contains phenyl group Ca 5 wt% in CP-B1 and Ca 10 wt% in CP-B2.  Applications are developed by utilizing its surface active effect of the hydrophobic phenyl group in the side chain.

Glycidyl Methacrylate is a unique monomer that allows chemists the ability to put oxirane or epoxy groups into acrylic resins, thereby allowing a variety of further cross-linking or curing reactions.

HDI-biuret is an aliphatic polyisocyanate based on the widely used hexamethylene-1,6-diisocyanate (HDI). These are primarily used for high performance coatings applications to improve weatherability and UV/chemical resistance.

Hinokitiol

Hinokitiol is a naturally-derived extract from certain evergreen trees that prevents bacterial and fungal formation in cosmetic formulations. This all-natural product has a pleasant evergreen odor and improves the shelf life of cosmetics especially after the initial opening of the product & use by consumers.
Hinokitiol has shown very strong preservative properties even in small concentrations as compared to sorbic acid and other common cosmetic preservatives.

Hydroxypropyl methacrylate

HPMA is a clear, colorless liquid with a pungent, sweet odor.  The product contains low levels of a polymerization inhibitor along with small amounts of methacrylic acid, and propylene oxide.  HPMA is used in the manufacture of acrylic polymers for adhesives, inks, and coatings for automotive, appliance and metal applications.   The added hydroxyl groups improve adhesion to surfaces, incorporate cross-link sites, and impart corrosion, fogging, and abrasion resistance.

Inositol

Inositol is rice bran origin component of Vitamin B group.

Isobornyl acrylate

IBXA is a mono-functional reactive diluent that polymerizes when exposed to sources of free radicals. The bicyclic structure of IBXA produces polymers of increased Tg, while its mono-functionality minimizes cross-linking to provide coatings and inks with good hardness, resiliency, flexibility and impact resistance.  IBXA is recommended for coatings requiring flexibility, hardness & thermal resistance, maintaining high elongation in urethane acrylates, and screen inks and coating requiring increased adhesion to polyolefins.

Leafing and non-leafing standard grades are widely employed in silver paints, industrial coatings, heat and corrosion resistant coatings, resin-kneading, and many other fields of application.

Fine leafing grades with their extremely small flake size provide exceptionally high hiding power. AMSD is a molecular weight modifier for SB latex, styrene series resins, etc. It is a mixture of two different compounds.

Methoxy Polyethylene Glycol 400

MPEG 400 Acrylate monomer imparts a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol chain onto an acrylic polymer with a low diacrylate content.   High diacrylate content can lead to gelation or unwanted crosslinking.  This is useful for waterborne coatings and adhesives.

Methoxy polyethylene glycol monoacrylate

MPEG 550 is a mono-functional methoxylated PEG (550) methacrylate monomer that features excellent wetting, water solubility, low Tg, and fast surface cure.  It is recommended as a versatile intermediate for coatings and polymer modification.

Methyl Propylene Tri Glycol

MFTG is a colorless liquid with an ether-like odor. TPM evaporates slowly and mixes well with water. MFTG is a solvent and coupling agent. MFTG formulations are used for the following applications: rust, paint, and varnish removers; stamp-pad inks; ball-point and felt-tip writing pen inks; hard-surface cleaners; and penetrating oils

Multifunctional – alkoxysilyl

ACTFLOW is a non-solvent functional and reactive acrylic polymer of low-molecular weight that have come out of molecular weight control technology. Has environmentally sound characteristics as a non-solvent liquid polymer and excellent normal-temperature fluidity.

Butyl isocyanate is a colorless liquid that is present in high purity.

N,N-Dimethyl acrylamide

N,N-Dimethylacrylamide (DMAA) is a high purity, water-soluble, UV diluent monomer with high reactivity, low vapor pressure, and very slow evaporation. DMAA offers glass and polycarbonate adhesion, excellent optical properties, and improved hydrolytic stability and resistance. It can also be used as a viscosity modifier for hydrophilic formulations. DMAA in oligomers improves adhesions and UV- and impact resistance.

N,N-methylenebis acrylamide

With two reactive functional groups in the molecule, MBAA easily reacts with other monomers such as acrylamide and acrylic acid, and is widely used as a cross-linking agent for a variety of polymers.

Recent applications include photosensitive resins, super-absorbent resins, resins for medical uses, immobilation of micro-organisms and gel for electrophoresis and chromatography.

Polyaspartic Polyurea Resin F520

PPR F520 is an aminofunctional co-reactant for polyisocyanates useful for the formulation of high-solids, two-component polyurethane topcoats and solvent-free coatings.  PPR F520 can be reacted with -NCO functional HDI trimmer resulting in a longer gelling time and excellent yellowing resistance.

Polyaspartic Polyurea Resin F420

PPR F420 is an aminofunctional co-reactant for polyisocyanates used for the formulation of high-solids, two-component polyurethane topcoats and solvent-free coatings.  PPR F420 is also useful when reacted with -NCO functional HDI trimmer showing longer gelling time and excellent yellow resistance.

STR-100C-LF

Dimethicone coating is replaced with stearic acid to allow the use of this grade in all natural products. It offers excellent dispersibility, transparency and minimized photo activity due to strictly controlled ultrafine particles and sophisticated surface treatment technology.
STR-100C-LF is registered with FDA and is manufactured following cGMP guidelines.

Tert-butylacrylamide-B

TBAA is a monomer used for the production of many polymers and is an intermediate in organic chemical synthesis. Copolymers of TBAA and acrylic acid are useful for thickening aqueous solutions, mixtures or systems that have high performance requirements under high pH conditions.

Tertiary Butyl Methacrylate

t-BMA acts as a reactive monomer in order to produce other monomers/substances. t-BMA forms homopolymers and copolymers. tert-Butyl Methacrylate (t-BMA) is also a very useful feedstock for chemical syntheses, because it readily undergoes addition reactions with a wide variety of organic and inorganic compounds.

Trimellitic anhydride

TMA is used in the synthesis of plasticisers and for producing epoxy and alkyd resins as well as a variety of other products including dyes, insecticides, polyester resins and pharmaceuticals. It is also widely used in the formulation of paints and plastics. Trimellitic anhydride is used mainly in the synthesis of trimellitate esters. These esters are used as plasticisers for polyvinyl chloride, especially when temperature stability is required. TMA is less volatile and less water-soluble than corresponding phthalates. This is useful for car interior linings, the wire enamels used to coat magnetic wire, and for other applications where high thermal resistance is required. TMA is often used as a binder for glass fibres, sand, and other aggregates

Trimethylolpropane triacrylate

TMPTA is a trifunctional monomer used in the manufacture of plastics, adhesives, acrylic glue, anaerobic sealants, and ink. It is useful for its low volatility and fast cure response. It has the property of resistance against weather, chemical, water and abrasion.

Tris[(3-mercaptopropionyloxy)-ethyl]-isocyanurate

TEMPIC is used as a chain transfer agent, cross-linking agent, epoxy curing agent and photocuring monomer for thiol-ene polymerization system.

Tetrahydrofurfuryl acrylate

THFA is a low cost, biodegradable solvent/adjuvant with many agricultural and industrial applications. Some important properties of THFA are water-miscibility, low odor, low vapor pressure and evaporation rate, high solvency for active ingredients, low freezing point, high flash point (183ºF/84ºC) and low viscosity even at reduced temperatures.

Tricyclodecane dimethanol dimethacrylate

TCDDMA is a low viscosity difunctional acrylate monomer that is polymerized by free radicals.  It can be used in a variety of UV and Electron Beam cured applications where flexibility and adhesion are required.   NK Ester DCP also demonstrated good film toughness and weathering characteristics.
